The adoption of the Law on the Chamber of Commerce of Republic of Srpska ("Official Gazette of the Republic of Srpska", No. 65/08) fulfilled the legal preconditions for the creation of the RS Business Register. Pursuant to the Law on the Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Srpska - Article 17 items (1) to (4) ("Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia", No. 65/08) The Chamber of Commerce of Republic of Srpska is in charge of establishment and maintainance of the RS Business Register.
By the aforementioned Law, the RS Business Register is defined as a single database of business entities (companies and entrepreneurs) that will be formed and updated on the basis of data from multiple administrative records. Through the system of the Business Register, The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of RS will collect, process and forward to users certain legal, economic and financial indicators in relation to companies and entrepreneurs. In this way, users will be provided with information that is necessary for directing the economic and entrepreneurial system and for making appropriate decisions in economic policy.
It is important to emphasize that the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of RS has succeeded in gathering data on economic subjects in one place, but also in providing resources to the institutions, through its use, to obtain the data they do not have, as an official record. One of the goals is standardization of data between official institutions.
The users of the Business Register are economic entities, the Government, ministries, local government units, development agencies and other entities working to improve the economy.
The Regulations on keeping the business register specify which information is public and can be placed as such for public use. In this regard, a WEB portal was created on the Internet address: www.business-rs.ba.
One part of the data is also available on the Internet address: www.business-rs.ba which is intended for all and free access to all data. This site will be developed in order to be able to find business information for the territory of Republic of Srpska in one place, both for domestic users and for all foreign business associates and those interested.
